CHILDREN'S STOOL
The aim of this group project was to gain experience working with bent metal tube, and to construct a functional stool out of real materials. Rather than having a focus on design, the goal was to explore fabrication methods. The design was a simple plywood seat on a three-legged zigzag base.
My role in the project included ideation, creating technical plans, and creating the seat portion. I played an instrumental role in bringing the concept to feasible construction, determining details, and explaining forms. I and another student made the plywood seat and assembled the final product.
The final product is an elegant yet robust stool. The legs are made of mild steel tube, bent and welded into one continuous shape.
